This remote southern region enjoys’ fewer visitors than the north but those who venture this far may be rewarded with sightings of Ishasha’s most famous residents the tree climbing lions lounging in the branches, located on one of the routes to Bwindi national park a UNESCO natural world heritage site in 1994, opened for gorilla tourism in 1993 lies on the edge of the rift valley Uganda’s oldest and most biologically diverse rain forests containing more than 400 species of plants and an estimate of over 500 mountain gorillas, a combination of these adventure places is a highlight on any Uganda safari.

DAY 1 Tree climbing lion safaris in Uganda: Drive to Ishasha
Our tree climbing lion and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda starts with a cup of coffee at breakfast then an early morning departure for Ishasha in the Queen Elizabeth National Park located on the unique western rift valley escarpment, have a lunch break in Mbarara then proceed to check in at Ishasha wilderness camp do a game drive in search of tree climbing lions in the evening, drive back to the lodge for an overnight, Accommodation options: Ishasha wilderness camp (upmarket facility), Savannah resort (mid-market) and At the River camp (Budget facility), Meal plan Breakfast/ Lunch/ Dinner.

DAY 2 Tree climbing lion and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda: Ishasha game drive – Bwindi
Having done a game drive trail for tree climbing lions in Ishasha on our tree climbing lion and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda, we transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest after breakfast. Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mghinga Gorilla National Park host half of the world remaining mountain gorilla population, the total population is estimated to be about seven hundred eighty living in the Virunga volcanoes and Bwindi.

DAY 3 Tree climbing lions and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda: Gorilla trekking

A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas  believed to number just 780. There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together.
Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. DAY 4 Tree climbing lions and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda: Lake Mburo – Boat cruise and game drive
Depart for Lake Mburo park early in the morning, with a stopover in Mbarara for lunch and  carry on to the lodge check in, after we head for the boat cruise on the lake to view the Hippos, Crocodile and plenty of bird life which include the king fisher’s, fish Eagles and not to miss the endemic African fin foot. After the boat ride an Evening game drive as we head back to the lodge for the night will give you a chance to see the nocturnal, Accommodation options: Mihingo lodge (Up market facility), Eagle Nest Tented camp ( mid – budget and Budget facility)and meal plan Breakfast / Lunch/ Dinner.

DAY 5 Tree climbing lions and gorilla trekking safaris in Uganda: Kampala – Entebbe – Horse back safari
After your morning coffee and breakfast take a horseback safari and encounter zebras, Buffaloes, Elands and Impala along with a great variety of birds with very informative guide to accompany you. Return to the lodge for lunch and thereafter time to leave for home, drive back to Kampala /Entebbe with enough time to stop at the equator for one to have photo shoot and craft shopping there are many craft shops at the equator point one is lost of choice, Arriving in Kampala/Entebbe late in the evening, accommodation options: Boma Guest House (upmarket facility), Cassia lodge (mid-range facility) and Red chilli hideaway (budget facility), meal plan Breakfast/Lunch and end of your trip.
