ITINERARY FOR LUXURY SAFARIS IN UGANDA
Day 1 Luxury Uganda Safaris: Departure from Kampala-Lake Mburo National Park
Kjong safaris tour guide/driver picks you from your hotel or area of residence at 07:30am in Kampala from your Hotel or place of residence, then drive to Mbarara (283km drive from Kampala) via Masaka make a first stop over at the Equator crossing for snacks and photography. Then Proceed to Lake Mburo National Park the smallest park in Uganda, closest to Kampala city but with wide range of animal species like Impala, Buffalo, elands, Topi, Hippos and large herds of Zebras plus many bird species like the rare shoebill, crested crane, pelicans, fish eagle, heron and many other water birds to view with in a single day, therefore Lake Mburo National Park becomes the perfect getaway for re-hustles on our luxury safaris in Uganda gorilla trek, mean while as we warm up for great adventures from other different game parks. Day 2 Luxury Uganda Safaris: Wide up with Lake Mburo-Bwindi
During our luxury safaris in Uganda Day two, we take a morning boat cruise amidst the water animals like Hippos, Crocodiles and bird watching as you do boat cruise, thereafter set off for our second destination that is Bwindi Impenetrable forest Uganda’s foremost tourist attraction and indeed one of the world’s most remarkable wildlife encounters is Gorilla tracking in the remote forests of south-western Uganda. These magnificent animals, found exclusively in the forests of Bwindi Impenetrable and Virunga National Parks, number less than 800 over half of them in Uganda. With a game drive enroute and visit to Igongo Cultural village this is more rewarding and amazing as you visit the Ankole museum. Lunch break is made at Agip Motel Mbarara. After lunch, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park This is the lushest highland rain forest on earth, filled with primates and exotic birds, valleys, hilltops and papyrus swamps. Day 3 Luxury Uganda Safaris to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Gorilla Trekking safaris
During this Luxury Uganda Safaris, we set off early morning with guides after breakfast to track the gorillas where eight permits are available to each group for tracking. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet. Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each gorilla safari encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display all this is achieved with Uganda luxury adventures.
Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a magnificent green swathe of dense rain forest, so ancient that survived the last ice age. A recently proclaimed World Heritage site,one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 720. There also a substantial chimpanzee population(chimpanzee trekking) and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together,the primate haven;enjoy this and so much more on this exiting experience.
Time permitting, spend the afternoon on a community foot safari to explore the life style of the people living and surrounding the park. Day 4 Luxury Uganda Safaris at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park-Queen Elizabeth
Having done gorilla trekking safaris in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, After early breakfast we set off for tree climbing lions in Ishasha, which is the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park, carry out a game drive where you may sight tree-climbing lions. Ishasha is dominated by acacia woodland and scrub-land and features the meandering Ishasha River, banked by a riparian forest. After picnic lunch drive all the way to the northern sector of the park Meals and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge (Lodge facility) dinner and overnight. Meal plan Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 5 Luxury Uganda Safaris to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the most popular park in Uganda, evidenced by the number of tourists visiting each year its famous for its tree climbing lions of which is covered in our day 4 luxury Uganda safari and is also blessed with an assortment of crater lakes, forested gorges, Savannah plains, swamps, rivers and beautiful kazinga channel – home to an abundance of wildlife. The park also has the highest number of bird species in Uganda, and can offer chimpanzee tracking in the forests with in the kyambura gorge therefore we set off with an early morning game drive to see more animals that habit this park, that include predators like lions and Leopards,are a site to long for. Over 500 bird species have been identified here, making it a Mecca for bird-watchers. They include the black bee-eater, 11 different species of kingfisher and several falcons, eagles and other raptors. Queen Elizabeth National is one of the most outstanding treasures of Uganda, and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve for Humanity under UNESCO auspices.
It borders on Lake George and Lake Edward as well as Kazinga Channel in the western area of the Great Rift Valley escarpment. After lunch take a 2-hour Boat launch cruise on the Kazinga channel. This waterway joins Lakes Edward and George and it is filled with schools of hippos, buffaloes with elephants at the banks. This Boat launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing. The prolific bird life is colorful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species. Day 6 Luxury Uganda Safaris travel Queen Elizabeth National Park-Kibale National Park
For this 11 days Luxury Uganda Safaris encounter, we begin the day with a super cup of coffee then Drive to kibale forest national park. get ready for next days as we prepare for trekking chimpanzees in Uganda. Kibale Forest National Park habitats the biggest population of chimpanzees in Africa at large and 13 other primate species plus 335 bird species, at Kibale Forest National Park we are able see the uncommon L’honest’s monkeys and East Africa’s largest population of the threatened red Colobus monkey other primates include the black and white Colobus monkey, Blue monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey(Uganda mangabey), Red tailed monkey, Bush baby and Potto. Hence being the best reserve in Africa to view chimpanzees in a thick jungle with a towering canopy. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge. Day 7 Luxury Uganda Safaris to Kibale National Park
In Kibale Forest National Park, after early breakfast, report at Kanyanchu Tourist Center where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzee deep inside the forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are over 90% but not a guarantee. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. It is home to our closest living relatives the endangered Chimpanzee, the threatened Red colobus monkey and the rare L. Hoests monkey. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling to 13 species including the Black and white Columbus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey and Bush babies and Pottos.
After lunch visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary from where you will take on a guided walk around the Swamp which will provide you with the opportunity to see a wide range of flora and fauna, view a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects, have a tour of the crater region around Ndali lodge. You may also stop over at any tea plantation along the road if you wish. Have an evening tour of the crater region, visit top of the world, the natural bridge. On a clear day you will be able to have a view of the snow cap on the Rwenzori. Meals and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge (Lodge facility). Day 8 Luxury Uganda Safaris to Waterfalls-Hoima
Today we go for a hike to meet the magnificent pressured waterfalls flying over the Nyakasura Mabere ganyina mwiru caves. This walk provides beautiful scenery of what will surely satisfy your expectations on your maiden tour of these caves as we encounter our 11 days luxury Uganda safari. There after drive to Hoima, overnight and dinner at KonTik Hotel Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.
Day 9 Luxury Uganda Safari to Hoima-Murchison Falls NP
On our day 9 luxury Uganda safari we leave Hoima for Murchison Falls National Park. Continue to the spectacularly site at the top of the fall where you can see the Nile's beauty perfected!! Marvel at the Nile, compressing from up to 1 km squeeze through a 7 meter canyon dropping 45 meters with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile…"the Murchison Falls. Day 10 Luxury Uganda Safaris game drive to Murchison Falls National park
Begin the day with a cup of African Coffee, then cross the Nile by ferry to the northern bank of the park. Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck,Bohor reed buck, hyena and the leopard. Return to the hotel for breakfast and lunch. After lunch, go for a boat cruise upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens meters away from the Devils Cauldron. En-route, marvel at the tooth some hippos, crocodiles and over this 17 km stretch you may see elephant, water buck, Uganda Kob and the Nile crocodiles. This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, horn bill, cormorant and the rare shoe bill stork. There you leave the boat and start your quite heavy hike to the Top of the Falls (approx. 1 hour). See where the worlds longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below. Day 11 Luxury Uganda Safaris final rap up from Murchison Falls National Park-Kampala
As we wide up our 11 days Luxury Uganda Safaris for gorilla trekking, we wake up very early in the morning at 6:00am prepared to take a photograph of the African rising sun in the morning and enjoy African breakfast. Then drive back to Kampala via Ziwa Rhino Project. A visit to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking is a must. After lunch, drive to Kampala at your convenience where you will be dropped off to a hotel of your choice or place of residence. End of service
